MEChA de Yale, a Latinx student organization dedicated to promoting social and political justice in our communities and for our communities invites you to apply for their mentorship program!
This upcoming spring, they will be implementing their mentorship program for Latinx high school students in the New Haven area called Conexiones, now in its fourth year. Students will be paired with a Latinx Yale student mentor and will receive one-on-one mentoring and tutoring as well as participate in bi-weekly Saturday morning group sessions. These group sessions will be centered on different themes aimed at empowering high school participants, helping them with college access, and developing their social and political consciousness.
They invite all Latinx high school students to apply, whether they be high-achieving or not. They would especially encourage applicants who are interested in making a difference in their communities. Though they accept students from all grade levels, they especially encourage applicants in their sophomore or junior years, as they believe that is where they can make the greatest impact in terms of college planning.
This year, the program will have biweekly group sessions on Saturday mornings from 10:00 am — 11:30 am.
The application is due by Saturday, December 22nd, 2018 by 5 PM
